Family Retreat
1-6 June – 15-20 July 2024

We love to invite families to come and spend a wonderful week with us at Kausay community. The family retreat offers an opportunity for parents and children to enjoy a relaxed and meaningful holiday in nature. Parents enjoy mornings with time and space for themselves, while the kids go on adventures and have fun.

Relaxing mornings for parents

The parents start the day with a relaxing yoga session followed by a healthy breakfast. After breakfast we come together for transcendental activities, variable to the season and the facilitators.
At the end of the morning we have a sharing circle and make the transition back to family life. We also provide some free time to rest and hang out.

Adventures for kids

The children start the days with a special kids-breakfast followed by various activities in nature. We will go on a treasure hunt to discover some magical spots around Kausay. We will meet beautiful horses while visiting the neighboring horse stable and enjoy some time with them. We will explore the organic garden and learn about the veggies that grow there. And in the meanwhile, there will be creative play: sports, games, music, story telling, … Depending on the age of the children, we adapt the activities to make sure all kids have a fun time.

Afternoon & evening…family time!

The afternoons and evenings are dedicated to family-time and connecting with the other families. Some days we will offer a program, some days we don’t. It depends on the needs of you and your family. Together, we create wonderful time for everybody.
The area around Kausay itself is really beautiful. It is possible to go for a swim in a nearby natural pool, a river and under a refreshing
waterfall. You could go to the village to have an ice-cream or stay at Kausay to relax, play and bring out your inner child. The nights are just about connecting, enjoying and gazing at the starry sky. On the last evening we will have a night of singing and dancing

Living in community

The retreat takes place at Kausay community, in your stay here you will experience community life. Together we live close to nature and share the work that is to be done on the land and during the retreats that we organise. One of our main projects is the big organic garden, if you like to put your hands in the earth and work with plants, you are welcome to join us in some of the late afternoons

About us

In the beginning months of this year several families met each other on the grounds of Kausay. We celebrated several weeks together and got to know each other a bit better. As mothers and fathers, we could also share experiences with our families and ways to be an
even better parents. 😉 To share this on a very tranquil place in Enguera a lot of room and understanding was created while inspiration was shared amongst all of us. Both families would love to attempt a family retreat and we ended up by organizing one! So, this spark might hit you. Feel welcome to dance with yourself and with your kid(s), to feel save even if you feel shitty, to hug a brother or sister who is also experiencing parenting and to enjoy beautiful nature in a remote valley, not far away from our little town.

Jeroen, cofounder Kausay community
My name is Jeroen. I have been a cofounder of Kausay. I have a stepson and a daughter, both living in The Netherlands. I prefer to walk in my underpants and walk over the land and looking after it. I enjoy the presence of people and I love to play hide and seek with a bunch of people. I love gardening and everything around it to keep Kausay alive, save and abundant. I like story telling, guitar playing, singing, giving foot massages, silent and bare foot walking, playing in general, dancing and birdwatching. Sometimes a cold beer or a fresh herbal tea can make my day. I see myself as a steward in service of Pachamama.

Eva, Jim, Renée, Hugo and our dog, Poncho.
Last year, we traded our house in Belgium for a camper. We’ve been on the road since then, exploring Europe and looking for a different and more conscious way of living. In spring 2022 we ended up staying in Kausay and experienced a real transformation. From the excitement that traveling gives us, to a down to earth and more peaceful lifestyle…This was simply the vibe that we were looking for!

My name is Eva. I’m a teacher in heart and creative play is my second nature. 😉 Since we left our old lives, it becomes more clear that this is still my calling in life but with a different approach than we’re used to in our western education. Beside being around kids, I also love gardening, taking care of animals, playing ukelele (still learning), doing craftwork like macramé, … and play hide and seek with Jeroen.

My name is Jim. I’m a tattoo-artist/painter who has his roots in construction and building. After 12 years of working with people on a personal level, I developed great people skills and learned to turn thoughts and feelings into art. I love to read, make music, art and build sea turtles in the sand with my kids. I have a big taste for adventure and love to go on hikes with our dog Poncho. And when the kids are a
sleep, I like to practice meditation, explore consciousness and you can always find me to talk about wild theories. 🙂

Renée (9) and Hugo (7) are ‘worldschool-kids’ for already a more than a year now and getting wilder every day. We love it!
As a family, we try to be as open and honest to ourselves as to each other. By living in a camper, we really learned how to level our vibrations in our little circle. We would love to teach people about this ever growing experience.

Let’s create a week full of fun and little wonders,
with a light approach to awareness and mindful living.
We’re looking forward to meet you !
